2 year old Brown Filly

Sire: Sizzling Dam: Couteau

Another Sizzling filly for Cindy...

Little wonder that Sizzling has proven so popular (serving 509 mares in his first four years at stud), the fast Gr.1 winner being a son of the Oakleigh Plate winning champion sire Snitzel whose service fee at Arrowfield Stud has just risen from $176,000 to $220,000.

This branch of the prolific Danehill sire line via three times Champion Sire Redoute's Choice continues to thrive with Snitzel whose progeny have already won 18 stakes races this year with some of the country's best horses... Redzel, Russian Revolution, Estijaab and Trapeze Artist... amongst them.

The winner of seven of his 23 starts, amassing over $1.3 million in stakes, Sizzling was a high class two-year-old who, after a six length debut victory over 1000m at Eagle Farm progressed quickly through the classes - winning the Listed Ken Russell Stakes by 4 1/2 lengths.

He was successful at his next three starts too, the Gr.2 Champagne Classic, the Gr.2 Sires' Produce Stakes and the Gr.1 T.J Smith Stakes.

Also a Listed winner at three, Sizzling is one of 83 stakes winners and 13 Gr.1 winners for Snitzel whose progeny earnings exceed $104.5 million.

Already the sire of five winners from his debut crop, Sizzling has sired the exciting stakes placed filly Sizzling Belle who, after a gallant Black Opal Stakes second, was close up in the Golden Slipper Stakes – as well as Clanbrooke and Cindy Alderson’s own Sizzleme who snared small black type on ANZAC Day finishing third in the Listed ANZAC Stakes.

Sizzling is also sire of the brilliant Adelaide Magic Millions Classic winner Zizzis, recent Sandown winner Secret Blaze and the last start impressive Gosford winner Saint Antonio Lad.

Another ten of Sizzling's lightly raced juveniles have been placed - suggesting that the best is still to come!

Interestingly Zizzis and fellow Sizzling winner Sugar Sizzle are, like this filly, line-bred to Danehill.

Meanwhile this filly also boasts duplications of some outstanding broodmares such as Natalma, Almahmoud, Flaming Page and La Mirambule.

This filly's placed dam Couteau is by the champion sire More Than Ready's outstanding son Sebring, a horse who won five of his six starts including the Golden Slipper Stakes and the AJC Sires' Produce Stakes, both at Gr.1 level.

Proving himself to be an outstanding stallion, Sebring has been represented by 40 stakes winners including the big race winners Dissident (Australian Horse Of The Year), Criterion, Egg Tart and Lucky Bubbles.

It is still early days for Sebring as a broodmare sire but signs are good with his sire More Than Ready being dam sire of 54 stakes winners including the Gr.1 gallopers Miracles Of Life, Rebel Dane, Delectation, Atlante and Luna Rossa.

This filly is the second foal for Couteau whose first by Eurozone has been showing ability.

Couteau is a daughter of the Gr.2 placed multiple city winning Anabaa mare Ms Bowie who has had four winners from five to race including the Gr.3 placed Lakers Bay. She is a full sister to the Gr.1 Railway Stakes winner Imananabaa out of a daughter of the Gr.3 sprinter Born Rich.

This is a prolific Australian black-type family, one whose members also include the Group One mare Rostova and fellow stakes winners Born Priceless, The Heavyweight, Simply Adorable, Lisboa Stand, Zedrich, Born Western, Malibu Style, Excelorada, So Anyway, Mystic Master, Trigger Express, Sovereign Ghost, British Steel, Getting There, Rhythm, Tristachine, Western Music, Achtung Baby, Transparency, Master Park and Snacking.
