Christmas

A number of Clanbrooke owners popped in to toast another Racing Year last night at a pub in Richmond. It was great to see so many new – and long-time – owners and associates, and the warm evening certainly made it feel like Christmas is just around the corner.

On the racing front, we have 2 horses hitting the track this weekend. Skystreamer heads to the Valley tonight following on from his 4th at Sandown on the heavy a couple of weeks back. The extra distance should suit and we are looking for a good showing. Delegance resumes from a spell tomorrow in the last at Flemington. Untrialled this time in, she will certainly benefit from the run and a sneaky run wouldn’t surprise.

In racing last weekend, Mayneda proved that she has fully recovered from the near miss that threatened to end her career less than 3 months ago. Always honest at her home track and finishing a credible 3rd on the day, Mayneda also proved that she doesn’t rely on rain for a good performance. The track came up better than expected at a Good 3 and Mayneda was forced to go forward and do a lot of hard work for her placing. She has certainly found her class and Trent will now target a couple of races before turning her out in preparation for an Autumn campaign.

It has been a couple of weeks since we had a guest tipster on this page and this week is no exception! We will be kicking off our guest tipping in late January, but until then, pop in to see what the stable has going around.

Over the Christmas period, the office will be closed from 24th December until Monday, 16th January. We will be accessing phone messages sporadically but checking emails regularly throughout this period and, of course, updates on stable horses will continue as per normal.
