A son of eight time Champion Sire HUSSONET, HUSSON was undefeated in a limited five start career, saluting three times at the highest level in Argentina. A Champion 2YO in his home country, HUSSON secured victory at his first career start in track record time by over nine lengths. Recording a further 4 wins, 3 at the mile, HUSSON was retired to stud in Argentina as a 3YO.

Imported to Australia in 2008, HUSSON recorded his first Stakes success with his very first Australian runner in HUSSOUSA (ATC Gimcrack S. [L]). Chalking a further 10 individual winners that season, HUSSON was crowned the Leading First Season sire in Australia by winners 2011-12. Notching 8 individual stakes winners from only two crops of racing age, HUSSON is the sire of 3 time Group winner and recent G1 Emirates Stakes runner-up LUCKY HUSSLER, also trained by Darren Weir. Other Victorian-based progeny include the Mick Kent-trainer The Huntress (MRC Catanach’s Jewellers S. [L]) and Patrick Payne charge Husson Eagle (2d. VRC Sports H. [L]; 3d. MRC Blue Sapphire S. [L]).

BELLSABEEL, the dam of this colt, is a quality mare by one of the world’s leading broodmare sires in PEINTRE CELEBRE. His impact as Broodmare Sire cpould not have been better highlighted than in last year’s $6.2m. Melbourne Cup when dual Group 1 winners PROTECTIONIST and RED CADEAUX ran first and second. PEINTRE CELEBRE is also Broodmare Sire of Australian Group 1 winners NECHITA, ROCK CLASSIC & GATHERING.

BELLSABEEL is herself a half sister to MOATIZE (by Danehill Dancer) – a winner of the G3 SAAB QUALITY, he also ran 3rd in the G1 Australian Cup, Qld Derby & STC Ranvet Stakes. He also ran in a Melbourne Cup!

Second dam, ZABEEL mare SHEZABEEL, was a city winner in NZ, saluting 4 times to 2050m. She has produced 3 winners at stud including G3 victor MOATIZE and it is the ZABEEL influence in this colt’s pedigree that will likely inject versatility.

Already the trainer of a triple Group winner by HUSSON, Leading Victorian trainer 2013-14 Darren Weir looks the obvious choice for this promising colt. Boasting a commanding 60% runners-to-winners ratio with almost 5% stakes performers, HUSSON is a value option for those wanting to get involved in the sport of racing.

Don’t miss the opportunity to race this supremely bred colt and reap the rewards that all horse racing has to offer with Clanbrooke Racing!
