Mar 09, 2016

THEROCK is by Champion 3YO and Champion Sprinter in Australia 2004/05 -FASTNET ROCK, a sire who dominated on the track with victories in both theG1 Lightning Stakes and G1 Oakleigh Plate as a 3 year old.

FASTNET ROCK’s race record is surpassed only by his record at stud. Producing 18 individual G1 winners who collectively have won 26 G1 races from just his first 6 crops, FASTNET ROCK is undoubtedly the best sire in the Sothern Hemisphere. His G1 winners include WANTED, FOXWEDGE, SEA SIREN, NECHITA, SUPER COOL, MOSHEEN, FIRST SEAL, IRISH LIGHTS, AMICUS, ROCK CLASSIC, ATLANTIC JEWEL, DRIEFONTEIN, PLANET ROCK, ROCK ‘N’ POP, ALBANY REUNION, LOAN ROCK, YOUR SONG & ATLANTE.

Despite eluding stakes success as a juvenile (THEROCK ran 4th to subsequent Stakes winner and recent Australian Cup [G1] runner-up, EXTRA ZERO in the Listed Anzac Day Stakes). THEROCK’s Classic year kicked off with two consecutive wins over 1400m in Sydney, defeating subsequent Group winners.THEROCK was described by Trainer Gerald Ryan as `one of his three year old stars’ alongside MELITO & ROTHESAY. Favourite for the G1 New Zealand Guineas, THEROCK’s brief 10 start racing career ended prematurely at 3YO after suffering a muscular injury.

THEROCK’s oldest progeny are now 2YO’s and have been acquired by some of Australia's leading trainers including Gerald Ryan, Darren Weir and Mick Kent.

The filly is out of BEKTRIS, a blue blood SIR TRISTRAM mare and producer of 5 winners including Soak Up The Sun (3d. STC Magic Night S. G2). NZ-bred second dam Beks, the winner of 10 races herself including the WRC Wellington Racing Club H. [L], and dam to POPSY (NZ Derby [G1]; AuRC Championship S. [G1]). Beks is also half sister to dual Group 1 winner (MY) STEELY DAN (NZ Two Thousand Guineas [G1]; WRC DB 1600 S. [G1]).

She comes from one of New Zealand’s best female families which includeSTEELY DAN, PRINCE STANDAN, BEKS, POPSY and LILAKYN.

The FASTNET ROCK cross with SIR TRISTRAM has been a great success and the filly is a close relation to G1 New Zealand Guineas winner ROCK ‘N’ POP. Stallion sons of FASTNET ROCK are starting to hit their mark with WANTED,ROTHESAY and STRYKER all both producing stakes winners. In fact sons ofFASTNET ROCK are currently sitting, 2nd, 3rd & 5th on the First Season’s Sires list (29/5/15).

Don’t miss the opportunity to LEASE this supremely bred filly and reap the rewards of all horse racing has to offer!
