This colt is one of the last progeny of son of DANEHILL - COMMANDS

Mar 29, 2016

The late COMMANDS was a full brother to Champion three-year-old DANEWIN and placed in the G1 Galaxy S. as well as the Caulfield Guineas [G1], despite success at the highest level eluding him. COMMANDS’ best win came a day before turning three when he defeated older horses in the G3 Missile Stakes at Rosehill.

COMMANDS retired to stud the winner of four of 15 career starts and quickly endeared himself to breeders when he produced G1 winners from both his first two crops in UNDUE and PARATROOPERS, He subsequently set an Australian record of 155 individual winners in the 2010-11 Racing Season. To date he has sired nine individual G1 winners including EPAULETTE and SKILLED, as well as four-time G1-winning mare APPEARANCE and multiple G1 winner PURPLE. He is one of only two stallions in Australia to have sired 10 or more Stakes winners in each of the past four Racing Seasons, the other being REDOUTE'S CHOICE, and was also the nation's leading sire by winners for three consecutive seasons.

COMMANDS became renowned for siring tough, durable gallopers who were consistent and able to perform at the top level. Only last Saturday, COMMANDS sired his 65th individual Stakes winner when ROMMEL claimed the G2 WA Guineas at Ascot. He is the sire of an amazing 742 individual winners to date and, combined, his progeny have won 2410 races and over $87 million in prizemoney.

Out of ZABEEL mare Manang, this colt has the world-class EIGHT CARAT family on both sides of his pedigree. Manang was the winner on 5 occasions and was VRC Oaks [G1] runner-up. Second dam RELATIONS has produced 6 winners at stud including 4 with 6 wins to their name whilst third dam GREAT-GRANDAUGHTER is a half sister to Eight Carat, the dam of OCTAGONAL, DIAMOND LOVER, KAAPSTAD, MARQUISE and MOUAWAD,

The untimely death of COMMANDS has only heightened interest in his progeny. His legacy will live on through his sire sons including EPAULETTE, SKILLED and AMBIDEXTER while his daughters have already started to make an impact as broodmares with POLITENESS and ONEMOREZETA,, both G3 winners over the Melbourne Spring Carnival, out of daughters of COMMANDS.

Don’t miss your opportunity to own this beautifully bred colt. We’re not lying when we say ‘there won’t be any more where they came from!’

I loved this horse from the moment I laid eyes on him. He has been blessed with a deep girth, powerful hind quarter, cracking head and strong forearms and gaskins – all attributes I look for in an equine athlete.” Mark Minervini, trainer.
