The Clanbrooke team are second generation racing participants. Their motto, `We Talk Racing’ reflects the decades of knowledge they have amassed within the Racing Industry.

Managing Director of Clanbrooke Pty Ltd, Dean commenced his professional career as a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) firstly in the Asbestos Industry and later as Financial Controller and then General Manager for a large National Office Equipment Company in Melbourne.
In 1979, Dean and his wife Jan, registered Clanbrooke as a vehicle for some future business ideas but it was not until the mid-nineties that Dean made the move into the sporting world and in particular into Thoroughbred Racing. It was at this time that Dean applied for a Financial Services License. The Licence which remains with Clanbrooke to this day, enables Clanbrooke to act as a Registered Syndicator within the Australian Racing Industry.
To date, Clanbrooke have syndicated over 500 horses and together with fellow Bloodstock Agent, Kevin Dagg, Dean is a regular sight at all the Thoroughbred Sales in Victoria and together they have built up a formidable record of yearling selection at very affordable prices.
The Syndication business operation works in tandem with Dean’s other interests. Dean has at various times represented over 50 individual Primary Schools as their external Accountant which has allowed him to become conversant with the Administration and Financial processes operating in the Australian Education sector.
At the same time, Dean operates a small boutique Tax Accounting business having had many of his clients for over 30 years. Of course of late, Dean together with daughter Brooke and Business Partner Brent Crawford, have formed a business to look after the Administration and Financial affairs of many of the participants in the Racing Industry.
So an involvement for Dean that began in the early 70’s with a grey gelding named Levanbrae has culminated in the Clanbrooke Racing and other pursuits of today.

My involvement in Racing is lifelong. I was borne into racing as my father owned an agistment property in the Goulburn Valley where I was born and rasied.
My entry into Syndication began when I was 26 when my brother and I formed the Syndication Company Sharing Winners in the mid 1980s. At the time there were only three such companies syndicating in Victoria. A big thrill was to Syndicate and Race horses that dad bred and we were lucky enough to have our fair share of city winners, including Bowled Lillee, bred by ourselves ( Out of Courtmarsh).
After 21 years and over 250 winners later, I took a break due to my career in education and children growing up. But the passion was always there and in 2013, I joined my good friend Dean and his daughter Brooke at Clanbrooke Racing.
I was thrilled to be back and involved in a family racing business with a very similar story. My strong interest is in Breeding and Ownership along with meeting new people in the game.
My role at Clanbrooke includes, Syndication, Marketing and Raceday Management. I am a member of the Melbourne Racing Club and was on the Committee at the Mornington Racing Club for 3 years. I am thoroughly enjoying my time with Clanbrooke and Elite Racing Solutions and I look forward to Sharing more Winners with you all as the journey continues.
Away from Racing I also play ordinary golf and follow lots of sports including the St Kilda Football Club with my wife, Judy. We have three daughters and son in laws and a small tribe of grandchildren.
