The Street Cry sire line – one that has provided us with such stars as Winx, Pride Of Jenni, Anamoe, Tentyris and Bella Nipotina – continues to thrive in Australia and its member Hanseatic has made a most encouraging start to his stud career.
One of the best two-year-olds of his year, the handsome chesntut recorded extra smart victories at his first three starts – all in stakes company – before a game Gr.1 Blue Diamond Stakes second, only just beaten by Tagaloa.
Also competitive in good company at three, Hanseatic – who hails from the same family as Black Caviar, Ole Kirk, All Too Hard and Magnus – has 22 individual winners in his first crop and already three from his second.
Bermondsey, Befuddle and Rohesia are black-type performers from his debut crop whilst several of his two-year-olds are showing above average talent… such as Sovereign Dash who has been in the placings at his first two starts including a Listed race at debut, the promising Queenslander Lady Of Five who was fifth in a Gr.3 Blue Diamond lead-up and Morning Thunder who created a big impression recording an easy debut victory at Ascot.
As well as Clanbrooke’s own Handee who was a most encouraging second at her first start with trainer Jason Warren confident that she is a stakes class filly.
Which is why we were so keen on this colt, bred on the same cross as Handee, both being out of mares by the dual Gr.1 winning sprinter Toorak Toff – the flashy chestnut who is doing such a good job as a broodmare sire.
Toorak Toff has only small numbers of mares at stud but already they have produced the Gr.3 winners Treasurway and Flyer as well as this year’s Magic Millions hero Unit Five… as well as 11 metropolitan winners amongst the first 32 winners.
This colt has even more in common with Handee; that filly’s second dam sire being the mighty Danehill whose outstanding son Rock Of Gibraltar is Super Snob’s dam sire. 23 of Hanseatic’s first 25 winners are out of mares with Danehill whose great son Exceed And Excel is Hanseatic’s dam sire.
Included in that tally is the Gr.3 placed city winner Befuddle whose second Danehill strain also comes via Rock Of Gibraltar whose third dam, the lovely mare River Lady, produced Street Cry’s second dam sire Riverman.
The consistent Super Snob won three races and was five times placed, competitive in good company over sprinting trips.
Her first three foals have all shown talent – Itza Motza a two time winner still racing well and Mrs Archibald a Moonee Valley winner with more to come whilst the thee-year-old Snobz – by Hanseatic – was favourite with nothing going right at his recent debut.
Super Snob is out of the stakes winning (at two) Superfly whose dam Allez France was also a juvenile stakes winner. The dam of seven winners and grandam of the stakes winner Tiesto, she is a half-sister to the dam of another stakes winner in Longchamp.
What a great Australian family this is, this colt is able to boast amongst his relations the Gr.1 winning two-year-olds Burst and Victory Prince.

ZOUSAIN FILLY FOR LEASE
NO CHEAPER WAY TO RACE A HORSE THAN TO LEASE!
Join us in racing this exceptional filly by ZOUSTAR’S best son ZOUSAIN. ZOUSAIN was a Group winner before retiring to stud and has lived up to his pedigree already siring 31 winners this season to sit 3rd behind only TOO DARN HOT and BLUE POINT on the Second Season Sires list.
The dam of this filly SATYRICON was a winner by CHARGE FORWARD from a short racing career. This is her third foal with none to the races as yet. The second and third dams have produced 12 winners from only 14 to the races. Now that’s a winning family! The full sister to this filly sold last year at the Sales for $275000 – confirmation of the pedigree. Our filly is bred on exactly the same cross as the multi G1 winner SUNLIGHT.
To be trained at Cranbourne by Leading Trainer CINDY ALDERSON
